Cracar Siberians & Whippets

Rescue Information

Rescue Siberians make wonderful pets!

The overabundance of Siberians fills not only your local shelters but also our breed rescues.

Siberians are often purchased from "backyard breeders" without any screening done and when the new owner cannot deal with the digging, leash requirements, running, chewing, shedding or activity level, they are often turned in to a shelter or rescue.  Sometimes the turn-ins are a result of a drastic change within the family or the family lifestyle.

Wonderful individuals house these rescue Siberians in their homes and evaluate them for their temperament and health.  Sometimes history of the dog is available from the owner (loves kids, OK with cats and/or other dogs, digs, etc.).  Those that are of good health and sound temperament are then placed on the available list.

If you don't want to deal with bringing up a puppy which will include digging, training, chewing, potty training . . . . a rescue Siberian might be the cure!

Rescue Siberians are completely current on all vaccinations and often have been spayed/neutered.  Be prepared to answer many questions as to your home life, the environment the Siberian will live in and perhaps even a home visit.  The goal of Siberian Rescue is that the next home will be a permanent one.

Because the rescue organizations are non-profit, there is usually a fee involved to help offset their expenses but it is often much less than paying for an 8 week old puppy.  Before deciding to add a Siberian or any dog to your life, please click here "How Could You?"
